Leading Auto Insurance Companies
Auto Insurance is a competitive business owing to the number of cars that exist in any given locality. In the United States, there are hundreds of thousands of cars that have to be insured. A buyer must consider factors such as stability of the insurance Company, its base, its competitiveness and customer service before taking up a cover. We shall survey companies that have often topped the list and their market share before we look at the customer relations record.
The major auto insurance companies have a larger market share than the smaller ones. Competition leads to better services to the clients. In the case of leading auto insurance companies in the United States, most of them offer more than compensation for the losses caused by an unforeseen insured occurrence. Some offer break down services as well as contracts on vehicle service to keep their customers satisfied. This is not uniform to all as it is not part of the insurance policy but a service extended as one would give a bonus to loyal shoppers.
Most car owners opt for the comprehensive cover. The leading auto insurance companies offer great quotes that will attract more clients. Going by the market share, we find State Farm, which controls the largest market share of 17.8%. That is a compelling reason to love it considering that its closest competitor Allstate, which ranks 5th in the top 10 leading auto insurance companies in the United States, trails at 11% of market share.
The third position in market share goes to GEICO. It sells mechanical breakdown insurance in addition to offering general auto insurance to its clients. With its additional services that are considered courtesy to some of its clients, it scoops 7.7% of the market share. Closely following this is the veteran insurance company Progressive. It topped the rankings of best Insurance companies of the year 2010. It may control a market share of only 7.2 but it stands out in service delivery. It is the best evaluator and leads in writing car standards. It stands out in yet another aspect; offering low rates of auto insurance when compared to its competitors.
Two points lower at 5.5% market share is Farmers Auto Insurance Company, which is reputed for offering a cover on service although on a contract basis. It stands out and keeps a grip on the loyal clients who bring others in. The next company that carries a significant market share is the Nationwide Auto Insurance Company.
It is not the last on the list of leading auto insurance companies since it carries a 4.7% share trailed by companies that can only be generalized among the category of “others.” If they were to be entered into a pie chart, each of the six would stand out as opposed to other companies that together carry the remaining 46.1%.
Each one of these leading auto insurance companies has a great capital base and time tested stability that has been there for decades. Going by the rankings done in the year 2010, Progressive auto Insurance Company stands at the top with fair premiums for motorcycles, boats and autos.
Other leading auto insurance companies in the United States may not take a significant place in the market share, but they are stable. They include GMAC, which has been in the industry for seven decades now and going strong, Bristol West that provides great service and guarantee deals to clients, Access Insurance Company that wins hearts on a variety of services offered, and Allstate Insurance Company. The latter ends the list of leading United States auto insurance companies.
